BIRKIN + LADY GAGA = ME ON THEBAGHAGDIARIES
It was Tuesday evening when JustJared.com posted a photo of Lady Gaga arriving at the Narita airport toting a white Hermes Birkin. Being a bag hag wannabe (the word Mrs.T used to call her self even though we all know she has the best bags in town) I immediately posted it out in my twitter account. I also shared it to Mrs.T (the author of http://www.thebaghagdiaries.com) without thinking that she’ll pick up from there.
On Wednesday afternoon, while I’m sitting at I-Republik for a mini press conference of a new show of ABS-CBN, I checked all the blogs I’ve been subscribing for years… and then the best shock of my life came! She posted the Lady Gaga tweet I send her and she also mentioned my name! Promise! I texted all my friends about this ACHIEVEMENT of mine!

It’s the best blog entry post I ever read. Her blog is very addicting that I often drool over all her posts, especially those sumptuous meals she features. I believe she’s the best travel, food and bag blogger in town.

WHAT A ROYCE’ BIRTHDAY
So I’m little by little updating this blog for all the things that happened since my birthday (April 7) up to now. Please pardon my late posts and inappropriate short blog entries because I’m quite on the rush this week.
I celebrated my 22nd birthday last Wednesday, April 7 with a small dinner party in the house with my close relatives. My Lola and Lolo came, my cousins, and aunts and uncles. Mom cooked the whole feast and it was A-amazing! I love all her recipes, I believe my mom is one of the best cook in town. Because the feast was so great, I wasn’t able to take photos of it. Instead I just took photos of the gifts I received that day.
Last month I’ve been telling everyone that I prefer to receive food just for a change this year. My sisterasked me if I want ice cream and cake… I said I want Royce… and viola, I got them on the night of my birthday!!!
I super love nama chocolates 🙂 one of the best gifts I received on my 22nd birthday!!!
Thanks mother, sister and brother for all the gifts!
P.S. I’m not old. 22 is the new 18!
TOUS BAGS
I’m a self confessed bag and shoe addict. I’ve been reading a lot of blogs and regularly visits local stores and websites of premiere and designer brands there is, so I believe I’m pretty good at guessing the brand of a certain bag.
As of the moment, the Philippines, specifically Manila is very much into fake Louis Vuitton’s, Prada, Chanel and even Goyard and Hermes. I’ve seen a lot of good Class A fake bags hanging in someone’s shoulder and its pretty devastating. I made a promise that I will not buy any fake bag in my entire lifetime. I’m still after the quality and longevity of the product and not into using it as “arm candy.”
So as I was browsing my aunts pictures, who is by the way based in Greece, I saw her in this bag that was pretty much over the tiangge’s in Manila. I honestly don’t know the brand and I’m pretty sure my aunt’s bag is not fake because she’s not of that caliber. I searched the net for the bag and alas! I found it! Another moment for me.
Tous Bags… are you familiar of it?
I’ve been seeing a lot of girls using it as everyday bag and believe me, I think its hideous because the “replicated” bag didn’t do any justice to the original brand.

I’ve seen someone with this kind of bag and believe me, at first I thought it was a recycled bag, it didn’t occur to me that there was indeed a “real” one!
I went to Tous site and it says that the company was established in 1920’s and they’ve been making jewelry that suits one’s personality for years. They also have wide variety of handbags, wallets, fragrances and even glasses in more than 350 stores in 42 countries (Philippine’s not included).

The widely replicated Tous “Kaos” bag is worth $259.00 and they are made-up of cotton and synthetic cover and unprocessed bovine leather.

As you browse in their website you will notice that they have good pieces (I’m actually liking their wallets and jewelry pieces). It’s just very unfortunate for them to be replicated badly (I’m not saying that it would seem right if replicated correctly) and another victim of piracy.
I just hope that we try to stop or don’t give any interest to fake products because the essence of luxury is slowly deteriorating. I know that some will oppose to my statement because they will reason out that its a way of letting the ‘masa’ feel a little bit of luxury, but getting a fake bag doesn’t give any sense of luxury (believe me!). Luxury is about quality and the time consumed to deliver something beautiful and extraordinary and getting a replicated bag doesn’t license you with that.

ONE YEAR CHALLENGE
I’m a sucker for romance novels.
My fascination with Harlequin or Silhouette Romances begun when I was in fifth grade (Yes, I know! They do contain X-Rated stuff but heck I thought I was a grown up at that time). It was my aunt who introduced me to those romance novels which she brought home from the states. At first I was a little bit hesitant to browse it because I know I’m not into that kind of stuff, but guess what? I liked it. My mom didn’t like me reading pocket books, especially romance, so I tend to read it when she’s not around or when she’s already asleep and I’d gladly open my Hello Kitty red flash light and read it in our bedroom floor, luckily I still have 20-20 vision.
I love going to Book Sales as much as I love going to those boring, humongous bookstores. I get that giddy feeling when I read the synopsis and I know that that book is “the one,” which usually lasts until I get another “the one” book. Sometimes my friends thinks that I’m a weird person because I prefer to just browse all the books in the bookstore rather than go out to have fun. I think they just don’t get it that I’m actually having fun. If there’s two things that I’m not sorry to spend most of my hard-earned money, it would be food and books (food nourishes the body while the book nourishes the mind). But don’t get me wrong, I also read classical literary pieces by Jane Austen and Milan Kundera. It’s just that I’m so inlove with Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Linda Francis Lee, Jennifer Cruise, Rachel Bilson and more.
So with more than 400 books in my closet, I’m challenging my self to at least share to you my thoughts on 150 books in one year’s time. I will try to blog why I love it, why I believe the story should have been this and not that and why it should be reproduced again for the next generation to come. I know, it may sound so lame, but hey I’m starting something here.
Fast forward to April 2, 2011, I should have write 150 book shares and a good one year in this blog!!!!

I’m not new to the blogging sphere. I’ve been there, done that and forgot to update it.
An hour ago, I was actually trying to update my LiveJournal account which was just flying in the web world for six months without any recent updates from me. I was writing my nth entry when it hit me… I don’t want to continue it and I just clicked the “delete account” button in an instant. It was actually an impulsive move from me because I forgot to save my (I believe) best stories. Yes, I make stories… the not-so-good stuff though.
Now I’m starting again (I know! How pathetic of starting it during April Fools’) and I’m not promising, yes, not promising to update it everyday or every week because I actually have a life out there…somewhere, and a job (I know, lame excuse). I will try to continue on and write anything that amuses me, or even those that disappoints me because, after all, this is my space in this unpredictable, so colorful and sometimes surprising world.
Cheers everyone… and no, this is not a joke.
