IT’S HER YEAR

ELECTION 2010

39 days to go before the first automated election here in the Philippines and after this Holy Week everyone can predict that it will be a steep competition on the way to national leadership. Mudslinging will again resurface in the open and every politician who was or is still linked to something anomalous will deny (I mean tirelessly deny) just to gain people’s nod especially on May 10, 2010.

With just five weeks to go expect something big, scandalous and earth shuttering campaign strategies  from our politicians and their families (no offense meant Kris) during sorties. Expect good words, lots of promises and never ending “pagbubuhat ng bangko” from them (sorry Loren) and more brave politicians who will pick fights just to prove that he’s the better man (yes, its you Noy), only because its election and he needs a more “manly” appeal.

It will also be a tough fight for the Commision on Elections (Comelec) as they will untiringly remind and assure the public that everything will go smoothly as plan for the automated election (sorry Kace, no failure of election talk again), and for the media people who’s covering the news. They will not sleep, some may not be able to vote, they may be scared, but not allowed to run, they will chase the dragons and exert their 100% time and effort just to give an accurate news to the public. It is a difficult job.

This upcoming May 10, 2010 we need everyone… not to feel pressured to vote for someone, but to stand on their on and say “I’m ready for a better Philippines.“
